You can see from the series of photos that the resin
is moving its way across the part. This is all happening without
the intervention of a worker. This is also happening under the
specialized infusion film that not only helps the resin flow
better across the part but makes the process "closed."
All of the wet resin is under the bag and in hoses. It is exposed
to a minimal amount of air and therefore greatly reduces the
annoyance of smell from certain resins and also reduces health
hazards. Vinyl-ester and polyester resin systems, typically have
the strongest odors, have been infused at tradeshows by employees
wearing business suits. The infusion process is clean, near odorless
and helps reduce harmful emissions. |

dry, in the photo above. The laminate above used 3 layers of
24oz fiberglass, plainweave. It is 64" deep and 42"
wide. No peel ply or breather was used in the above part. |
