You can see the new optional baffle extension on the
front of the 16". This is approximately 20" long and
helps block stray light. The extension weighs less than 2 lbs,
including the fabric shroud itself. It has a larger ID at the
top than at the front of the main telescope, where it bolts on.
This accounts for the light cone and a CCD chip as large as 1.5"
x 1.5". |
